  • Nishikant Barodekar on tabla certainly was the life and soul of last Friday’s concert,Nadopasana, by artistes from India. Both in his solo pieces and in his accompaniment throughout the concert, his outstanding ability was displayed. In his solo, he was accompanied by Madhukar Khadikar on sarangi. The rising and descending chromatism in the sarangi provided a mesmerizing accompaniment to Nishikant’s athletic, almost ferocious tabla-playing.
The tabla, usually an accompaniment, took centrestage, blurring the sounds of the sarangi. Rousing applause in the midst of his performance testified to his skill. Hailing from a rich musical tradition, his grandmother being the legendary vocalist, Hirabai Barodekar of Kirana Gharana, his musical proficiency was hardly surprising – -Singapore Times - Fine Arts Society concert review  By Malini Tambyah

  • Young Tabla Maestro in Making, Nishikant left a select audience spellbound by his tabla solo performance -THE TRIBUNE
  • An excellent tabla accompaniment was provided by Nishikant Barodekar, which centainly enriched the sitar recital. His presence of mind, brilliant Layakari, swiftness and aesthetical sense to maintain the mood of the Raga shows his good upbriniging under the tutelage of Ustad Allarakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain. He sure is an artiste whose horizons are crossing connoisseur's boundaries. - CHICAGO TIMES
